As a lead engineering program manager for the iPad and Macbook display programs, I managed development and timely delivery of display programs starting from first generation iPad Pro and subsequent Macbook display modules from early prototyping to mass production.

- Manage future platform display requirements for critical Intel 10.1”, 8.9”, 7”, and 5” smartphone and tablet platforms, driving consensus across multiple, cross functional teams- Drove evaluation for display characteristics such as resolution, power, color accuracy of emerging display technologies, including OLED, LTPS, E-Ink, and IGZO across multiple 2009 – 2015 tablet and phone products.- Delivered technical training to customer marketing and validation engineers on new SoC display capabilities and key ecosystem changes.- Evaluated new OS paradigms such as Windows MPO and Android HW composer HAL, resulting in enhancements to Intel Si. - Lead display team in U.S and international product definition customer discussions (Dell, Samsung, HP, Acer, etc.) to gather next generation display requirements such as resolution, size, color accuracy, display topology, interface, and other factors.- Lead display team in international panel vendor discussions (Samsung, LGE, Sharp, JDI, Panasonic, Novatek, Parade, Renesas, etc.) to gather data on next generation tablet and phone panel vendor trends including topics such as MIPI DSI, eDP, and LVDS transitions, sub-pixel layout, materials advancements, power savings opportunities, layout dependencies, etc. - Lead display task forces resolving high volume, critical display issues regarding rotation, portrait vs. landscape scan-out, and FRC for dithering, enabling on-time launch of customer platforms- Enabled eDP to LVDS, MIPI DSI to LVDS bridge devices from Parade, NXP, and Analogix, smoothing legacy transitions.- Created the risk assessment of MIPI DSI CoG topology and drove the long term strategic response plan for eDP.- Created usage models for HDMI, multi-link DP, platform docking, and confirmed technical readiness across consumer and corporate display configurations.- Evaluated MIPI DSI and eDP compression options to reduce power and increase interface resolution scalability

- Created technical roadmaps for graphics, video, and display technologies for Intel notebooks which accounts for 300M+ units shipped annually.- Drove negotiations and plans through executive management to enable the Broadcom H.264 PCIe decoder, enabling BD and HD DVD playback on Intel Extreme Graphics.- Repurposed the Broadcom H.264 into a smaller form factor to provide a drop in option for H.264 decode providing potential OEM sell up opportunities.- Defined and drove the strategy for Intel transitioning from LVDS to eDP for notebooks. - Engaged with Corel and Cyberlink to provide hardware acceleration of H.264, MPEG2, and VC-1 encode and decode in video applications for Intel Extreme Graphics.- Managed OEM customer communications for potentially sensitive schedule or feature changes- Delivered training for the value proposition of Intel HD 3000 graphics value proposition to sales and marketing.- Provided marketing collaterals in the form of the Intel HD 3000 benefits guide, the template for OEM design win documents and technical bootcamps.

- Managed and implemented RTL changes to key display pipe hardware units (GMBUSUNIT and DPIOUNIT).- Created unit level tests to validate RTL changes.- Drove ECO changes to address GMBUS unit bugs- Evaluated multi-cycle paths for timing verification

- Negotiated the Intel / Macrovision license for copy protection for integrated S-video, component, and composite video.- Co-authored the serial digital video-out (SDVO) opcode interface for codec control for HDMI, DVI, S-video, component, composite, video.- Engaged with LeadTek, Prolink, and Varian for proprietary AGP-SDVO daughter cards to provide platform configurable options.- Represented Intel in several worldwide standards bodies including VESA, CEA, and SMPTE to improve product compliance and interoperability.- Direct customer support and debug for Dell, Samsung, Sony, and NEC for Windows graphics driver issues of new category of integrated graphics chipsets.- Drove testing and validation of new display technologies via VESA plugfests.- Presented dual DDC whitepaper at VESA display conference.
