My career in IT has been a journey of continuous growth and exploration across various domains. Starting with backend development, I transitioned to maintaining and improving our data warehouse's backend system and developing and maintaining the frontend for our data warehouse system. This progression naturally led me to full stack development, focusing on the ongoing improvement and upgrading of our existing backend system and improving the functionality and user experience of the frontend system I deployed.In the past year, my focus has shifted towards Data Engineering, a role that places me at the heart of data analysis and engineering. I joined an international Data Warehouse team, collaborating across multiple countries and using technologies such as Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Management Studio, Python, Tableau, and Microsoft Azure. This shift shows my commitment to adapting in the constantly changing IT field.Despite this change, I continue to maintain and work on backend and frontend systems, although not with the same intensity as before. My work now combines the technical aspects of data engineering with continued support and upgrades of full-stack systems, demonstrating a wide-ranging set of skills.I love data and analytics, and it inspires my work and personal growth. Using DataCamp, Growth Tribe courses, and reading up on data helps me get better and learn more in this area.Outside my professional life, I'm also a dad to a two-year-old, working hard to juggle my personal development and family time. I'm learning Dutch through B-level courses and keeping up with new tech to improve my skills.As I continue my journey in IT, I'm looking forward to meeting others who love tech, data, and making an impact. I enjoy both creating and thinking strategically in data engineering, always eager to learn more.
