My work at CopperSteam is in many ways the physical manifestation of my obsession with the art of sound & light. I love to build things, and this is my little corner of the world where I go to make stuff just for myself; a guilty pleasure that I don't feel one bit guilty about.Lately I've been focusing primarily on hand-built vacuum-tube stereos and lamps. I like things that light up and glow and play music... story of my life.I've had my works published in coffee table books, and shown throughout the US in Steampunk Art shows.

Feld is a candy store for me. My job as Technical Design Manager is perhaps one of the most fantastically perfect jobs I could hope for. I'm able to combine my love of fabrication with a huge dose of head-scratching, technical design, and drafting.My job is to turn conceptual designs from our show designers into real-world shop drawings using 3D modeling for pre-visualization, and technical drafting for final output to our in-house fabricators.Along the way I also use 3D scanning hardware, 3D modeling, and 3D printing to reproduce parts for props and costumes, as well as to reverse-engineer one-off props for future reproduction and archiving.I've worked on Props for the Disney on Ice shows, Sesame Street Live shows, Jurassic World Live shows, and smattering of Monster Jam projects from time to time. I've designed everything from a full on duplicate of the iconic Sesame Street set to Micky's Magic Tour Bus, to Life-sized animatronic dinosaurs and drivable Gyrospheres. What a fantastic opportunity!

At Cinnabar I had my hands in all sorts of cool projects. We built and painted set dressings for live events as well as commercial shoots for theme parks and private clients. We also did some heavy engineering and fabrication for theme park rides and props - from metal fabrication to fine woodworking to fiberglass and paint work. It was truly a little of everything, and a whole lot of fun.

My love of designing and building things led me to seek out a job that allowed me to bring all of my skills into play. At MAD FAB I utilized my 3D and illustration skills to visualize the design of large-scale props for theme parks as well as private venues, then moved out into to the shop to fabricate, using my carpentry, metal working, fiberglass, and paint skills. I learned CNC tool path programming for output to either the CNC router or the water jet cutter to manufacture precision parts.I manage a team of artists and fabricators working on multiple projects across many different disciplines working on tight deadlines, we worked hard and had a great time. It's immensely satisfying to see a large project go from conception to installation. Every day I learned something new at that job!

My work as a freelance designer has taken me all over the place; geographically as well as professionally. I contracted for a year at an art gallery in Winter Park and learned high-end framing and art handling.I had the opportunity to work with a nationally renowned photographer for a number of years in Key West, producing all of his photoshop and print studio production work. I learned more while working with him about color correction and large-format print production than I ever would have anywhere else.I entered and won the poster competition for the annual Key West festival Fantasy Fest in 2012. That was a blast, definitely one of those 15-minutes of fame situations. I signed posters that year till my hand was numb!

I began my career at Glatting Jackson as a wet-behind-the-ears graphic artist, but left with a set of skills that I can feel very confidant about; 3D modeling, Photo-Manipulation, Technical Illustration, Video Editing, Audio Recording and Mixing, Large-Format Printing to name just a few.Glatting Jackson was a wonderful company; they let me chase obscure paths to find cooler ways to do things and get ideas across. I remember specifically wanting to get my hands on some 3D software to do visualizations. This was way before 3D modeling was the big thing it is now, and my bosses didn't know what it was, but they let me buy it anyway. That leap of faith started a landslide of innovation in community design visualization that eventually placed GJ squarely at the forefront of the Urban Design and Landscape Architecture industry.I learned so much about so many things working with the amazing people at this firm, but the one thing I will never forget is the way the firm's founder Jack Glatting searched out people for their unique abilities, then let them flourish in the firm by letting them play to their strengths, unfettered. The result was a tremendously unique and vastly powerful combination of diversely skilled folks who made up one of the strongest design firms in the history of Orlando.I consider myself immensely lucky to have been a part of that firm at that special point in time.

Lights, lasers, fog machines, and huge sound systems all wrapped up in a dark room under the stars. What could go wrong? I learned show production, old-school manual graphics and darkroom techniques. I learned audio mixing and sound system construction, educational exhibit design and even a little bit about astronomy. We had a tight-knit family of very bright, dedicated, creative people, and the results were magic.Best job ever.
