I have the pleasure of working for Wiland, Inc, a multichannel marketing company in Niwot, CO. I currently use Tableau along with Mysql, Perl, Unix scripting and Excel reporting macros on a daily basis. Wiland, Inc is a great example of what a company can accomplish when everyone works as a team.I was working with Experian from 1992 to 2009. During that time I sharpened my database skills in terms of speed, efficiency and accuracy. Most of the files and databases I worked with were built using in house designs and proprietary languages. This gave me the opportunity to look at database design and setup from many different angles.Since 2010 I have been with Wiland. The research and development that our teams do here are incredibly rewarding, I feel proud to be part of this company and work hard everyday so that I can help in our success and growth. In my current role as a Business Intelligence Analyst, I investigate and illustrate such trends as customer retention, lifetime value and product preference using standard and custom KPI's. Our approach to the use and handling of Tableau has given me a great view of the product but also how the product works behind the scenes. I have been lucky enough to learn from and work with some of the finest minds in IT . The knowledge I have gained and honed from my coworkers will serve me a lifetime.Specialties: Listing my traditional IT specialties limits my true talents by categorizing them as skills. I have acquired a lot of skills over the span of my career and I plan on acquiring more. I have been a quick learner in every position I have had. I have been in the IT world for 25+ years and some of my past skills are not used anymore. What I can do is transition my past and present skills into future endeavors. I approach new opportunities with an open mind knowing that there is always a better way to solve an old problem.
