“Inspiring Self Belief in Others; Enabling Transformational Change and Fulfilment”Mike Collins was the Director of the Learning Environment and the Director of Service Excellence at Otago Polytechnic with a passion for creating dynamic working environments and believes in a team culture aligned to values.Mike believes a successful organisation requires a clear strategy with innovative aspirations supported by people working within an empowering culture where staff own and enable the business values. One of the keys to success is to form a highly effective team by promoting efficient and transparent communications, focusing on the customer at the centre of all decisions, creating a fun and enjoyable work environment and providing an on-going investment into staff education, knowledge transfer and mentoring.Having graduated with a Bachelor of Information Technology in 1998. Mike worked at the Dunedin City Council for 4 years as an Analyst / Programmer. In 1997 Mike began working at the Otago Polytechnic and has had a number of different roles during his time there including; Y2K Project Manager, Information System Manager, Group Manager School ICT, Chief Information Office and of late Director of Learning Environment. From time to time Mike is also asked to act as Chief Executive to cover as required. In 1999 Mike worked in London for a year at the NHS Hospital Trust as an IT Consultant. In 2007 Mike was elected General Staff representative on the Otago Polytechnic Council serving in that governance role for 3 years.In 2012 Mike completed a Bachelor of Applied Management majoring in Business Excellence and is currently working towards his Masters in Organisational Transformation & Change aligned to Service Excellence.‘Positive transformational change is possible, dream big, believe in yourself and the collective intelligence of those around you and anything is possible’ Twitter account @mike4leafclover
