At the Children's Crisis Treatment Center I worked with the center's nurse to care for school-age children, severely traumatized by abuse and neglect, who were undergoing partial hospitalization in a school environment. As part of the rotation a lesson plan was created to teach about sharing. This included writing a song and puppet show. The rotation at Cathedral Village, a long term care facility, focused on assessment. In particular the rotation focused on the development of a nurse's eye, assessment through observation. The clinical at Mercy Hospital included serving in the role of charge nurse on a rotating basis to delegate and oversee the shift's clinical assignments of fellow classmates.2012 Spring.
