Development of giant chess pieces, marketing, sales and distribution of large outdoor plastic chess sets.

Since my return to South Africa I have been doing production management, post production testing and fault-finding for all products manufactured. Some of the products have required firmware update or changes and I have continued designing and doing PCB updates. The PCB designs have been done with Altium Developer (Protel), the firmware written using Keil C.

Nanotecture is a pre-revenue, venture capital company where I was working with scientists to develop products using patented materials invented by the company. I gained a detailed understanding of various electrochemical energy storage technologies and reviewed, built and tested two forms of energy storage devices produced by the company. I worked on a.

Led the development of a palm sized explosive detonation trigger device and worked in a small team developing a landmine anti-handling device.

Conducted research into various measurement techniques applicable to the mineral processing industry. Developed ultrasonic sensors, electronics and test equipment for measurements in liquids and slurries. Published many research reports and presented several papers on the work done.
