Senior Consultant leader of a design-build effort providing a national e-Commerce Fulfillment Center for a leading multi-channel, multi-brands $3B department store chain, combing product and operations from five Regional Distribution Centers into one highly-automated, new-construction facility in Ohio. The 1,300,000 sq. ft. National Fulfillment Center design incorporates fluid-load receiving, twelve 3-level pick towers, pallet reserve storage, six sortation technologies across 14 sorters & miles of conveyor, put-to-light and automated packaging machine systems, a new-release WCS/ WMS, plus a customer service call center with e-commerce photo studio. Historically provides industrial engineering based consulting services which assist retailers & e-tailers (store-based and order fulfillment-based) and wholesalers with Supply Chain Operations services. Joined the North America Retail Sector expansion project team to successfully install a new client e-commerce fulfillment operation including Pick Tower, MHE automation, and tilt tray sortation. Merged and installed two relocated tilt tray sortation systems with WMS in an automated e-commerce fulfillment start-up operation for e-commerce client. Supported new 3-level pick tower with routing sorter and tote buffer, plus a separate ship sorter. Commissioned a Small Bags Sortation & Manifesting System.

Rejoined Eddie Bauer organization to provide material handling equipment system guidance in a new Warehouse Management System implementation project ($28M), encompassing the highly automated 2.5M sq.ft. operation as a world-class international 3PL logistics services provider. Provided engineering strategy and logistic engineering services for multiple Brands, in addition to Eddie Bauer retail store distribution and customer call center services.Developed systems and facility projects to transition fulfillment and logistics services for three globally recognized direct-to-consumer brands (Express, Dress Barn, and Justice) into the facility along with their customer call center support services. These are an addition to the existing Eddie Bauer retail and direct-to-consumer operations. Other corporate supported 3PL companies included Swarovski Crystal, Yankee Candle, imported Chocolates, Hermes, and Otto GmbH & Co KG .

Provided three client start-ups and process improvement programs for 3PL lead logistics services provider. Installed ISO, FDA, and SOX-compliant, multi-million dollar automated sortation system, refrigerated storage, and logistics applications software in one client's fulfillment services center (US Smokeless Tobacco). Re-engineered picking application in national distribution site for second global client (Weight Watchers). Integrated a new value added services area for kitting and delayed manufacturing making another global account more profitable (Logitech Computer Peripherals).

Independently or as part of global project team within supply chain logistics, supported customer service and other corporate divisions. Identifies and corrects issues that impact the efficient flow of merchandise to our customers globally. Develops, evaluates, recommends, budgets, and manages the execution of action plans and capital projects in 6.5 million sq.ft. of North American operations. Coordinates the execution of these projects with a staff of engineers, temporary project teams, other divisions within the company, or third party vendors as required. Provides internal expertise on all matters involving production processing, materials handling, facility systems, logistics, and call center operations across five time zones. Managed IT systems build-out in new corporate headquarters tower building relocation.

Opened 21 facilities (avg. 1 per month) adjacent to USPS Regional Bulk Mail Handling Centers nationwide and provided IT infrastructure (using virtual WMS) to support 300% annual volume growth in new USPS parcel delivery and zone-skipping industry. Supported company transition to FedEx operations during corporate buy-out.

As first corporate engineer, managed strategic and capital projects supporting supply chain logistic services for rapid business sales growth of 10-fold to $8 Billion in 5 years. Grew new engineering team to twenty-two and developed three primary distribution channels (retail, e-commerce, and Greek Squad home delivery) with prototype facility designs. Supported IPO and new fulfillment center openings on two coasts simultaneously.

Added automation to a Distribution Center construction project site in Mexico City. Executed Operational Management evaluations at Sears, Roebuck & Co. headquarters and measured the productivity of Vice Presidents in Regional Field Management.Provided initial time-studies & recommendation leading to out-sourced Sears Centralized Returns processing, a 10-year transition.

Hired by the same Vice President of Distribution at three companies to bring cost-efficient productive engineered solutions. Rehired a second time by the same corporate recruiter serving in a new role at Kohl's.Developed methods and procedures by workstation for a 700,000 sq. ft. distribution center complex supporting a billion dollar retailer. Measured standards (2600 elements) and installed an Incentive Pay Program for 700 processing associates with first-year payroll savings of over $1,000,000. Analyzed building capacity. Prepared 5-year Optimal Merchandise Distribution Strategy reducing turnover from 10 to 2 days. Created floor plans, staff planning programs, and operating policies increasing building outbound productivity by 45%. Grew the building twice from 125,000 sq. ft. to 450,000 sq. ft. to 700,000 sq. ft., complete with automated sortation and improved processing efficiencies. Supervised office staff of 5 associates plus on-site consultants.

Directed $7,000,000 facility supporting 106 home fashion furniture stores. Managed 300,000 sq. ft. warehouse and fleet of 30 trucks, employing 180 warehouse associates and 50 over-the-road drivers. Completed installation of a Warehouse Management System for site inventory accuracy. Installed radio frequency, bar coded inventory location system reducing the equipment and operator hours by one third.
