At Esperta Health, I work with health plans to bring better outcomes to wound care.My first job out of college was working in managed care, contracting with tertiary hospitals on a DRG basis for small community hospital-based health plans. Then, I moved on to work in the behavioral health sector as National Network Development Director. I learned a great deal about the healthcare industry in these roles, while also taking over responsibility for clinician credentialing.In 2001, I left that role to take a sales position for a company that utilized technology to help healthcare companies improve access to care and communications to members. I was successful in this role because I was a customer of this company, and I understood the challenges faced by healthcare organizations and how to solve them. It is important for sales professionals to be knowledgeable about the industry to create customized solutions that meet the ever-changing needs of clinicians, patients, and healthcare administrators.I enjoy consultative selling. It’s not about telling people what they need. It’s about working with them to deliver value to all the stakeholders and solve problems. Throughout my career, I have built and maintained relationships by doing the right thing, taking care of my customers, and doing what I promise to do.
