About Michael Distassio
I’ve been a dog lover my whole life. Like humans, I love that each dog has their own unique personality.I became familiar with the Bark Busters philosophy when I, myself, hired a Bark Busters dog trainer seven years ago. My English Bulldog was not in love with the fact that she now had to share the spotlight with twin babies. She was stressed and fearful. What should have been a joyous time, the birth of my twins, was now one that had me anxious. What I witnessed in the first lesson alone was magical. It gave me the confidence to establish myself as my dog’s leader. Seeing my pup’s transformation happen right in front of me was nothing short of amazing. Fast forward several years later, and now I’m the one helping clients to live in harmony with their dogs. When I em-“bark”-ed (pun intended?) on this journey to become a Bark Busters dog trainer and behavioral therapist, I couldn’t imagine the fulfillment. I am passionate about what I do. And, I’m grateful that almost daily I get to touch people’s lives.I help clients live a happier life together with their dogs!

Freelance Art Director / Graphic Designer
I provide graphic solutions and marketing strategies for companies and brands of all sizes. My experience working with high profile brands at major promotional marketing agencies in Fairfield County, CT has left me with a wealth of knowledge. Creating unique and compelling consumer experiences is what motivates me to generate great work.My areas of expertise are:Brand IdentityUser ExperienceLogo DesignMarketing CollateralProduct PackagingDigital ProductionEvent SponsorshipVehicle Graphics
Senior Art Director
"It's better to be seen than heard," was my motto while creating artwork for Octagon, one the largest event sponsorship and athlete personality companies worldwide. I was given the opportunity to create dynamic and relevant work across all media that was seen by the masses. This was not a typical agency experience, I was given a green light to come up with creative concepts to help each brand achieve their objectives at activation. As well as communicating with corporate sponsors and strategically executing their marketing plans.
Freelance Art Director/Graphic Designer
My time spent freelancing for marketing agencies in Fairfield County, CT was where I learned that I enjoy pleasing people. I often headed up, and sometimes assisted, a diverse range of creative initiatives while working with many different personalities. For many agencies like Octagon, Source Marketing, Daymon Worldwide and Integrated Marketing, I was a key consultant and asset to their creative staffs. Many times I was given assignments for months at a time. My colleagues would tell you, I always put thought into everything I created, no matter what the scale of the project was.
Senior Art Director
The friendly competition among artists really helped elevate my game. Twice I was given an opportunity to be the lead creative on brands that Ryan represented. The first was when the agency had to conceptualize and excute all of the banking material for their new client Bank One. I thrived at organizing and designing simple but engaging messaging that led to 100's of printed pieces in a huge undertaking. The account became my responsibility shortly after that. The second was when I was given the key to one of the more prominent brands the Agency had long acquired Lever 2000,. I knew it was my time to shine. I helped design promotions and advertsing at the retail level as well as "Brand Fairs" which included all of Unilever's brands. At a Brand Fair at the Waldorf Astoria, each agency was given a limited budget to promote the brand it represented. Being that it was a very "cookie cutter" exercise I felt the need to push the boundaries as much as possible. I worked tirelessly to come up with most unique concept I could think of, while still sticking to the brand guidelines. Since the brand was undergoing a face lift and was trying to become more male focused. The idea was to design a slick looking laboratory that gave the brand a feeling of being progressive and skewed a little more masculine. We ended up stealing the spotlight and was promoted shortly after. That was the project that gave me the confidence to step out on my own.
Art Director
As a junior associate, I collaborated with some of the brightest minds in the promotional marketing business at the time. We developed imaginative design concepts and themes for national and regional POS programs for Miller Genuine Draft and Miller Lite.Though I was stilled considered "green" in the industry, I was given the task to excute the ideas with many eyes looking over my shoulder. This is the place where my flame was lit to create my own brand and one day branch out on my own.
