Mike oversees the Product and Editorial teams at Octane, and he is responsible for product direction, strategy, and implementation. Mike joined Octane in August 2018 as the Head of Consumer Verticals before being promoted to his current role later that year.Under Mike’s leadership, Octane has introduced innovative new products that have significantly contributed to Octane’s growth, including Octane’s soft-pull credit products, Octane Prequal, and Prequal Flex. Prequal has earned numerous industry awards, including the U.S. Fintech Awards Online Initiative of the Year winner and Paytech Awards Best SME Payments Initiative finalist. Mike also led the rollout of new tools and services, such as Octane SafeCheck, within Octane’s dealer portal, which gives 4,000+ dealers a faster, easier closing experience. Mike oversees Octane’s consumer-facing tools, which now account for 35% of Octane’s application volume, as well as Octane’s automated decisioning and underwriting tools, which enable 95% fully automated underwriting—and he’s working to get that to 100%.Prior to joining Octane, Mike held a number of executive positions, including a role as the Vice President of Product, Head of Consumer Experience at TrueCar, Inc, and he was the VP of Product Development, as well as the Head of Product Engagement at Hearst, and Executive Editor and VP of Product at Car and Driver.Mike lives in Brooklyn, NY, with his husband and is an avid traveler, photographer, swimmer, car nut, and gadget tinkerer.
