I am a Design Engineer with over 30 years experience, specializing in the development of medical devices and medical equipment. I have worked for design consultancies in the UK and USA, with clients from individual inventors to international corporations. As well as medical devices I have worked on domestic appliances, office furniture, and ruggedized equipment.I love all stages of product development from the initial concept development to prototyping to manufacturing liaison. Working individually or as part of a team, I like to rapidly iterate and prototype ideas as much as possible to find the best possible solution.I have 25 years experience using Solidworks, and I have set up and maintained the infrastructure for companies, such as prototyping equipment, operating procedures, product data management, backup procedures, and tools for effective client communication, along with all the network skill to keep everything working reliably for my colleagues.I have a well equipped home office located in the Eastern Time Zone of the USA (New Hampshire).I also love making things - a single hand-made model to a short run of prototypes. I have a thorough knowledge of DFM (injection molding, metal casting, sheet metal and fabrication) and rapid prototyping.I've also designed and built my own laser cutter, high speed FDM machine, transformed a pile of rough cut lumber into beautiful furniture and TIG welded a workshop together.
