Mike is an entrepreneur and successful business man, having built several international technology companies. In 2004, Michael co-founded Real Matters, a leader in Property Information Systems and one of the fastest growing private companies in North America. Real Matters went public in 2017.Prior to that, Michael founded InSystems Technologies. InSystems grew to be one of the largest providers of Document Management Solutions to the financial services industry, with over 400 customers in 24 countries. InSystems was sold to the Standard Register Company in 2002. InSystems won several industry awards, including: Deloitte top 50 Fastest Growing companies in Canada and top 500 Fastest Growing Companies in the US; Top 100 Employers to work for in Canada; one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies; and numerous other Technology and Innovation awards.Early in his career, Michael started Mica Data Systems which became a leader in Insurance Administration Systems. Mica Data Systems was sold to FRI Systems in 1987.Michael is a graduate of the University of Waterloo and holds a Bachelor of Mathematics. Active in business associations and committed to the community, Mike has twice been Campaign Cabinet Chair for the United Way of York Region. He is also Vice-Chair of Polo for Heart, which has raised over $6 million dollars for Heart and Stroke related causes. In 2003, he was recognized with the prestigious Canadian Venture Capital Association 'Entrepreneur of the Year' award. Michael is a proud father of four children, and has four beautiful grandchildren. He is a frequent traveler, motorcyclist, skier, polo player and fundraiser for the local community.
