I am a software engineer and architect, both by training and at heart. I’m also a technology executive, strategist, advisor, data analyst, evangelist, and mentor. My professional experience includes roles as a programmer, technical project manager, solutions architect, manager and executive. I've predominantly worked in the financial services and ad-tech / marketing industries, and have led teams ranging in size from five to eighty. I’ve led software engineering, enterprise architecture, and technology operations teams, and built websites and tools for digital marketing, refactored and migrated legacy financial systems to service-oriented architectures, and implemented a Hadoop data analytics and reporting environment. As an independent consultant, I’ve helped companies with technical diligence related to investments and acquisitions, and created cloud migration strategies for businesses looking to modernize their infrastructure.I’m passionate about craftsmanship, methodology and tools. At HSBC, I led the adoption of the Spring framework and an agile SDLC across the entire company. At Avant, I built a platform and infrastructure for citizen-developers to automate common, repetitive tasks in their jobs. And at Amount I’ve implemented infrastructure-as-code practices to help scale our platform.
