Directed Identity Data Services (IDS), which was composed of 26 software engineers and 4 managers across 3 teams, in the development and support of services that power Identity across numerous platforms within Comcast, Sky UK, NBC Universal, and other syndication partners.Oversaw the design and development of the core Xfinity back office that supports inventory for all customer accounts, devices, and entitlements for Video, Home, and Mobile Lines of Business.Acquired the Xfinity Profile Graph (XPG) team through a reorganization and quickly incorporated their talent, feature set, and technology stack into our core identity-focused suite of services.Expanded the IDS suite of services to become a global platform, adding 2 AWS regions in the EU and 2 in APAC to IDS’ existing footprint of 3 regions in North America.Managed a $5.5m departmental OpEx budget and reduced costs year over year totaling $1.2m, resulting in a 50% reduction in our Cloud infrastructure spend.Built a culture that focused on trust, transparency, and accountability, while enabling engineers to bring novel ideas to market and continually improve their skills and career.Created an interviewing process and hiring pipeline that resulted in the hiring of 19 team members.Worked closely with our Product and Architecture teams to ensure we delivered business value and technology alignment across our suite of services.

Managed the Xfinity Back Office (XBO) team which was comprised of 15 software engineers and one junior manager. XBO is comprised of a dozen microservices that contain all Account and Device information to support the customer experience for Video, Home and Mobile product lines.Scaled XBO services to handle peak throughput of 20k transactions per second, across 3 AWS regions, with a Service Level Objective of 99.9% of responses under 100ms at a 99.99% success rate.Implemented observability metrics tooling to ensure the team had full awareness of outages before customer impact. Maintained MTTR rates of under 10 minutes.Drove the technical platform strategy and managed the technical roadmap for the team.Developed an interviewing and hiring process that resulted in 8 excellent new team members.

Focused on rapid prototyping and proof of concept projects to prove out technical solutions to business process challenges.Collaborated with Executive Leadership and the CTO to identify problematic areas around customer acquisition and onboarding, and devised solutions outside the scope of normal software development lifecycles.Optimized distributed systems for high scalability and high availability for other teams. Consulted with teams to identify bottlenecks and weak ingress points and engineered solutions for them.

Contracted at Comcast, focused on delivering the Xfinity app to the Xbox 360, representing the first non-native, Customer Owned and Maintained (COAM) video app in Comcast’s history.Developed the middleware that allowed the Xbox SDK to make native API calls to Comcast back end services.Worked closely with QA engineers to ensure the Xbox app passed Microsoft’s certification process.Delivered a successful product launch, surpassing Xfinity’s X1 next-gen set-top-box video services daily user counts.

TelVue - Co-developed a video content and schedule management console for digital video broadcast servers. Concurrently developed PEG.tv, TelVue’s web-based VOD and Live Streaming service.ProCore - Co-developed on-demand construction project management tool targeting large commercial construction organizations.Engine Yard LLC - Co-developed customer control panel for engineyard.com, a clustered high-availability and scalable application server.Leads and Clients - Custom web-based CRM tool developed for Quality Humans, INC. Enables QHI to track status of, log communications between, and value of potential leads and past clients.Double One Media - Developed beYOU.tv, an e-commerce enabled video platform focused on fitness and self-help.
