As a seasoned Non Executive Director with Advinia Health Care and a long-serving Member of Parliament, my career is marked by a commitment to enhancing the Legal Services sector and integrating cutting-edge technologies like AI within justice systems. With a robust background in sales operations and export finance, I've honed my interpersonal skills to navigate complex commercial and governmental landscapes effectively.In my recent role as Minister for Courts and Legal Services, I led initiatives to develop England and Wales' Legal Services Sector and pioneered the integration of Law Tech and AI, driving performance improvements across the Courts Estate. This experience, combined with my tenure in Parliament, has equipped me to provide strategic oversight and advocate for innovation and excellence in healthcare governance and legal services.The commercial experience in driving performance improvements through business process improvements was invaluable in Government. Being able to unpick process issues created internal focus and process and culture change. The result ? Improvements in performance, across a wide range of government activity such as export strategy, probate, the court estates, the court backlog and in the promotion of the UK’s legal sector (worth £60B to the UK economy). Much of the deliverables had to secure buy-in from stakeholders, my background in sales and high net worth advisory (where relationship building is key) provided an edge in delivering in my ministerial portfolios.
