"Through the efforts of our dedicated staff and physicians, in partnership with communities and organizations, we provide exceptional health services for Northerners."As Regional Manager, I lead a team of nurses and support specialists who share the responsibility to prevent, monitor, and report communicable diseases that affect BC's northern residents. Members of the CD team also maintain stewardship of the north’s publicly funded vaccine supply (worth over $10 million annually); oversee immunization, low-barrier screening, case detection and follow-up, contact and outbreak management, program and policy development; and participate in education, research and evaluation, and health promotion activities.

The Prince George Public Library builds community resilience by creating welcoming and inclusive spaces for every person to read, connect, and share.I was appointed by the City of Prince George and served eight years with the Prince George Public Library Board. I held the role of Chair from Jan 2018 - Jan 2023. I was a member of the PGPL Local History Committee and PGPL Governance Committee (Policy/Administrative oversight) for five years. The Board oversees the work of the Library Director and monitors the $4+ million annual budget. With the Board and Library Director, PGPL provides library services and programs for the people in and around Prince George, and establishes policies, goals, and objectives for the library as well as advocates for the library.

The British Columbia School Trustees Association (BCSTA) serves and supports BC’s boards of public education through Professional Development, Advocacy, and Legal Services.I oversaw all aspects of BCSTA’s technologies including networks, in-house servers, computers, telecommunications, and back-up & security. I also supported the work of various BCSTA committees & branches, including the Aboriginal Education Committee, the Student Citizenship Scholarship Committee, and the Northern Interior & South Coast Branches.• I transitioned BCSTA from fax- to Internet-based event registrations by researching options and implementing and customizing gomembers Association Management System (membertrak, meetingtrak, etrak). This suite provided contact and event management, and online registration capabilities via BCSTA's own servers from 2008-2017.• Taking advantage of the capabilities of gomembers, I conceived the process and led the team that developed a custom system to automatically update contact information on the email server (Active Directory or AD) which imported information from the gomembers database every 15 minutes. As a result, the information was securely available to staff via MS Outlook, an Intranet Contacts webpage, and smartphones and tablets. All AD email distribution groups (through Outlook or GroupMail), LISTSERV groups, and the EduCal website were also automatically updated via this process.• I conceived the process and led the team that developed EduCal, BC's K-12 Education Partners Group calendar.• I researched options and selected a replacement telecommunications system, adding: direct in-dial lines for staff, line twinning with cell phones, voice mail to email, DECT wireless handsets, and integration with the email server for contact searching.• I led the team that developed a custom barcode scanning system for BCSTA event check-in. Barcode scanning improved the speed and accuracy of the check-in process and subsequent reporting.

I enhanced staff education and improved access for professionals and patients to health information.• I recruited and led a team of seven individuals (Regional Coordinators, Clinical Educators, and Program Assistants) that helped VCH educators produce six custom online learning packages in one year.• I led the effort to customize and install two new major information systems: the Course Catalogue & Registration System (CCRS), a catalogue and registration system for classroom and online courses, and the Patient Health Education Materials website (PHEM), a catalogue of materials available in PDF format as well as for order via the VCH print shop.

I managed website content to support the British Columbia Cancer Agency’s (BCCA) mission and vision.• I co-led a project to bring three major BCCA publications to the web: Cancer Management Guidelines, Chemotherapy Protocols, & Cancer Drug Manual. The BCCA website for which I was the web officer effectively fulfilled its mandate without major revisions from 2002 to 2015.• I worked closely with Public Relations and Information Technology teams to determine functional and technical aspects of the website.• I wrote guidelines and trained 100+ content editors on the content management system for the website.• I implemented (and provided support from 2002 - 2012) three online Physician education projects: a Tobacco Intervention (stop smoking) Program; a Skin Cancer Prevention and Early Recognition Program (see: http://www.bccancer.bc.ca/health-professionals/education-development/skin-cancer/); and a Skin Cancer Atlas http://www.bccancer.bc.ca/health-professionals/clinical-resources/skin-cancer-atlas).
