My responsibilities include fundraising, event planning and execution as well as establishing and maintaining relationships with international donors in the USA and Europe. Axium Education is a non profit based in rural South Africa that aims to raise student achievement in under-performing areas. During Covid, I organised virtual fundraising and networking events. Currently I travel bi-annually to the USA and UK on fundraising and relationship building trips and work on a part time basis.

Helped establish an EMEA customer services team by hiring, onboarding and mentoring new staff. Participated in token sales and distributions. Worked remotely.

Started travel business and oversaw daily operations and logistics, staffing, sales and administrative functions with a staff of 5. My roles as founder included product and business development, marketing and sales as well as establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and clients. Project managed and led numerous overland and camping safaris in Southern Africa. Natural problem solver, ability to handle stressful situations (on little sleep) while maintaining service excellence for my clients. Highlight being marketing, selling and organising a successful tour of 3 countries for 110 International students within 7 weeks of first meeting the clients. Took over 1200 international students on safari.Social ImpactLaunched a township homestay accommodation business in South Africa to empower local women to make a living through cooking meals and hosting overnight visitors in their homes. Have hosted over 1300 overnight visitors and financially impacted over 20 families with new income since 2007.Over the past few years I have focussed more on Educational and Volunteer tourism whereby my international groups travel around SA to contribute in a meaningful way with non profit organisations. I partner and maintain relationships with non profits around SA and abroad and plan all itineraries according to my local partners needs. My Tour Director role includes organising and leading all tours between 1 and 120 people consisting of people from the USA, Europe and Australia. I've lead groups all around Southern Africa but have a passion for social impact projects and helping to uplift the marginalised and poorest people in society. As tour director, I'm a multi tasker with varied responsibilities such as managing and leading people, problem solving and maintaining group cohesion and relationships. Enthusiasm, energy, humour and positive attitude are key strengths while making a difference gives me great joy.

For these 2 years I was involved in a variety of projects. Initially I worked in tourism in a marketing position before taking time off to travel through Southern and East Africa. Since I love travel and people, I qualified as a tour guide / travel manager. I also did a 3 month research project on youth at risk in lower income areas as well as started a business with 3 friends.

20twenty Financial Services was an innovative SA based Online Bank that launched to the public in 2001. I was hired as a customer services agent in their 24/7 call centre. I thrived in the tech start up environment and excelled in customer services. Recruited the most new customers by any employee and was rewarded for great customer service with CEO award.

I was based in the London Equity Research department as an administrator supporting the Telecom, Banking and Emerging Markets Analysts.

Worked in the London head office supporting the Human Resource Managers. Liaised with store managers and recruiters to recruit new applicants while performing additional administration assistance. Offered bonus to stay at company but left to travel.
