As an entrepreneur and small business owner, I wear many hats but my goal is always the same: to do right by my employees and clients because I’m humble enough to know that without them, I have no business. So what does that mean? To start, I value a strong team and an environment that fosters open communication and idea-sharing amongst team members. Their input is critical and it’s important that they know our working environment fosters collaboration. What’s more, when a team member presents an idea or philosophy that differs from mine, I’m all ears. I to listen to understand their perspective because I know I will learn a thing or two. I value our clients and the relationships I have established throughout my career. When a client decides to do business with my team and me, they are putting their trust and confidence in us. I do not take that lightly and I strive to treat each client and project as if they are our only one. I also value learning and look for lessons every day that I can apply to all areas of my life. Perhaps the biggest lesson I have learned is the need to be true to myself. The lessons throughout my career have been invaluable and some, quite frankly, have been downright difficult. But I wouldn’t change a thing because I know I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.
