I am a biochemist with extensive experience in cGMP enzyme manufacturing, molecular biology and biotechnology. I have extensive skills in chromatography and enzyme assay development. I was responsible for manufacturing trusted and highly valuable enzymes at ThermoFisher Scientific for forensics, clinical diagnostics and cancer research. I was able to build upon that experience for Nuclein, where I was asked to initiate and lead enzyme manufacturing efforts for a company on the leading edge of handheld PCR diagnostics for COVID-19 and Zika viruses. My skill set includes the entire recombinant protein production process:* I can use my skills in molecular biology to clone a gene for expression into a vector.* I can transform bacterial and mammalian expression hosts and then culture cells for production of a recombinant target.* I can purify expressed targets through chromatography and TFF at a wide range of scales, from microgram to grams.* I can characterize purified targets through a multitude of techniques, such as fluorescence, HPLC, bioanalyzer and qPCR.* I can effectively document the entire process for regulatory authorities and transfer processes through development to manufacturing.
