For over 20 years, Youth in Trades has been a stepping stone to employment for youth in the construction industry. Coordinated by the Construction Association of PEI, the program provides youth with 8 weeks of classroom training and industry certifications followed by 14 weeks of employment in a chosen trade.

Simulating a normal company's business procedures, products and services, a Practice Firm resembles a real company in its form, organization and function. The Practice Firm was a simulated business model that allowed participants to gain realistic work experience while conducting virtual business with other Practice Firms globally. While 'working' at the Practice Firm the participants conducted a full job search for a 'real' position.
