As a Business Management and Entrepreneurship Faculty at California State University-Dominguez Hills, I have the pleasure of teaching and inspiring students to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams and potential. With over 23 years of experience as a Managing Partner at The Grimshaw Group, I have founded, funded, and mentored 15+ start-up companies in various sectors, such as technology, education, and social impact. I have also successfully brought several innovative start-up companies to funding, acquisition, or IPO, such as Equinox Networks, Cascade, Shasta Networks, and Ellacoya.In addition to my teaching role, I am also the Executive Director of The Entrepreneurial Institute at CSUDH, where I develop a robust entrepreneurial spirit and create a safe haven for all things entrepreneurial with students, faculty, staff, and the business and civic community around CSUDH. I am also a Co-Founder of serious improv!, a leadership training company that uses improvisational comedy techniques to enhance communication, creativity, and collaboration skills. Furthermore, I am an active angel investor and a member of various professional associations, such as the LA Venture Association, the Institute of Management Consultants, and the California United Bank Advisory Board. I am also a certified executive coach and a Vietnam veteran with a Bronze Star.
