Currently responsible for leading our growing tech organization of over one hundred employee’s in sixteen teams covering I.T., Data Engineering, Product Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Developer Success, multiple internal startup’s, and Information Security.

● Oversee the technical and organizational health improvement for five software development teams and one technical operations team. ● Identified and fostered leaders within the company to organize teams to match the needs of our business.● Put in place needed policies and procedures around software depreciation, system updates, technology adoption, and on-call support.● Lead the organization through a time-critical accessibility initiative, bringing all areas of active development into compliance with WCAG 2.0 AA. We met our goal while migrating the premium, marketing, and public websites onto our new Django web framework.● Collaborating with the business team in identifying and decommissioning unneeded systems to help us focus on tech’s return on investment.● Consolidated our content infrastructure, millions of pieces of content in various systems, build in different technologies, to a single SOLR based content API with content available and searchable from as far back as 1995.

● Architected and built a django based web testing, targeting, and reporting package that is powering http://www.fool.com. Allows our business users to segment and target specific experiences for visitors to best monetize their current state.● Lead the team responsible for creating our in-house content management system. This is our one-stop-shop for creating, editing, and publishing hundreds of articles a day to http://www.fool.com and our various syndication partners. It features triggered workflows, tracks changes, communications tools, and a built-in payment system.● Lead the design and development of our Marketing Management System. This system replaced ASP “html” pages with a system that allowed our marketing team to create and test landing pages, email capture pages, and order pages for our commerce system.● Championed and created a generic abandoner system which sent triggered emails with templated and testable content to potential members.     • Utilized for our order page system as well as landing and video pages.     • Allowed tracking of visitor progress and deep link them back to that step or area of the page.     • Used javascript callbacks and server side Celery/RabbitMQ tasks to accurately track visitor state.● Created email reporting for our marketing team that combined sales data with email statistics for the various A/B tests they were running in the batch, transactional, and programmatic campaign systems.● Built an administration system for our member services team which allows them to see the actual emails sent to our members, which improves our customer service experience.

● Managed development teams of two to five developers as direct reports.● Designed and lead the team that created our stock watchlist system.    • Allowed visitors to easily track individual stocks and receive customized news updates across our website and delivered daily to their email.     • Scaled the system to over 400,000 users in under six months.● Redesigned an underperforming stock portfolio and screener system used by our premium products.     • Page load performance was reduced from five to ten seconds to under 500ms for large (500+ stock ticker) screening operations.● Created our scorecard email system which allowed us to onboard over 1.5 million users from AOL’s DailyFinance scorecard system.    • Delivery of daily customized content based on their preferences and stock scorecard.● Lead the design and development of a beta community blogging platform based on Django.● This allowed us to quickly stand up and onboard hundreds of community writers.● Included basic editorial workflow and editing tools using a highly modified django admin UI.     • This was our company's first foray into Python and Django and based on the project's success it became our primary development platform.

● Managed the team of 4-6 developers responsible for the marketing and free www.fool.com website and tools.● Lead the conversion from an in-house publishing platform to Percussion Rythmix CMS system.     • This involved creation of ASP.Net Soap web services, CMS configuration and setup, and a healthy dose of XML and XSLT.● Developed testing and segmentation tools that allowed our business teams to optimize the website experience for conversion and page view metrics.● Continued to migrate the www.fool.com website from ASP to ASP.Net

● Fixed in-house SMTP email system to correctly follow the SMTP specification and accurately track open and click data.● Created the subscribe / unsubscribe mechanisms for our members, still in use today.● Built admin tools for the www.fool.com ASP to ASP.Net conversion.● Built out the www.fool.com homepage, article pages, and aggregator pages in ASP.Net

Lead development of a new grassroots contact management system used by major non-profit organizations which enabled them to organize and coordinate their communications with federal and state legislators. Assisted in the creation of an ASP.Net based framework that enabled front-end developers to create complex interactive websites in a declarative manner. Created public facing websites for Fortune 500 companies political advocacy departments which allowed their employee’s to easily contact their legislators regarding important legislation.

Responsible for the publishing and maintenance of the course material for over 300 online classes comprised of over 29,000 HTML documents.Development and maintenance of numerous Perl programs.Assist with yearly department IT budget creation and research.
