I was a part of four different units in my time with the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office. I started as a General Sessions Prosecutor (November 2017 - April 2018). I then transitioned to the Juvenile Court Prosecutorial Team (May 2018- August 2019). After Juvenile Court, I spent a brief period as a Criminal Court Prosecutor (September 2019 - February 2020). I spent my last two years with the office as a part of the Domestic Violence Specialty Prosecution Unit (March 2020 - June 2022). ● Prepared multiple cases for jury trial, and conducted two murder trials in front of a jury ● Distilled 500+ felony cases in order to negotiate potential plea agreements with defense counsel● Drafted and argued in open court over 100 motions, and motion responses, regarding a wide variety of complex legal issues pertaining to open cases and cases in appeal status● Engaged in intricate and extensive legal research for motions and trial work● Clarified complex law and legal procedures to victims, witnesses, and jurors regularly● Collaborated daily with members of our team to ensure the needs of the Criminal Court docket, including various hearings requiring oral argument, were accomplished efficiently and effectively● Conducted 150+ successful preliminary hearings in General Sessions Court

Certified by the State Bar of California to conduct preliminary hearings under the supervision of an attorney. Prepared and performed direct examination of witnesses, introduced evidence, and conducted all other necessary obligations for approximately 15 felony preliminary hearings. Researched and wrote several responses to various defense counsel’s motions. Assisted with the drafting of a sentencing memorandum.

Assisted in the drafting and revision of numerous corporate special actions, non-disclosure agreements, demand letters, and engagement agreements. Researched several legal issues and drafted legal memoranda presenting same.
