Founded and grew successful events business. Over 20 years of demonstrated success in business management, sales, marketing, customer service, planning, and production of event services. Born and raised on a farm in central North Dakota, Mike graduated from Northland College in Thief River Falls, MN. Once he received his degree in Broadcast Communications, he joined iHeartmedia Grand Forks, ND as a part-time on-air radio host. Mike also worked full-time in the wireless communications industry for Cellular One. He earned multiple honors for the top state and regional sales associate numerous times during his career there. In 2002 Mike moved to Texas and accepted a position with the City of Kerrville as a 911 dispatcher for Police, Fire, and EMS. In 2003 Mike moved back home to North Dakota and began his career as a sales account manager for Verizon Wireless. He provided sales and customer account management, again exceeding many company sales goals. In 2004 Mike created Backspin Productions, where he started providing A/V production service and mobile DJing events. By 2010 Mike had grown his company roster to over 15 employees. His duties included general direction of the business as well as sales, marketing, and performance training. Mike has helped over 5000 clients plan, organize, and celebrate their special events. Mike has trained over 100+ Mobile DJ's helping them kick start their careers. In 2020 covid shut down the meeting and events industry for over a year. During that time, Mike accepted an eight-month contract as the Director of Marketing for a new business start-up. Mike is very outgoing, organized, and personable. In his spare time, Mike loves to fish along with many other outdoor activities. Most importantly, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife Ashley and their 3 children Theresa, Fisher, and Hunter. Mike is currently serves as the special projects and coordinator for the department of research and economic development at the University of North Dakota. Also Mike is owner of Multi-Productions Event Services specializing in industry av production and event planning/management services.
