I am a Data Scientist in Social Finance's Digital Labs team. We aim to provide user-centred data solutions to a range of social issues by partnering with local government, not-for-profit organisations and others.

A model of human evolution in EuropeThe PhD was a highly numerical project, involving multiple streams of original analysis of data from the human fossil record. I was responsible for designing and implementing these analyses as well as communicating the results in the thesis, in peer-reviewed publications and at conferences.Key achievements- Completion of a 75,000 word thesis communicating the aims and background of the project, three streams of original statistical analysis, and the conclusions of the study- Delivery of four conference presentations in the UK, Spain and Portugal to audiences of up to 400 people. One of these presentations was in the Pecha Kucha format where I had to use 20 slides with only 20 seconds per slide. This challenged me to hone my skills in concisely communicating complex information to an audience in an engaging style.- Multiple statistical analyses conducted in Excel, R, SQL, SAS, SPSS and specialised software when necessary. Thousands of lines of code were written by me for these analyses, which included using clustering algorithms and dimensionality reduction techniques to display multivariate data; hypothesis testing; construction of parsimony-based phylogenies for anatomical data.- Over 100 hours of classroom teaching of undergraduates in data collection, statistics and theory in human evolution

January 2014 - September 2015: Senior Relationship Manager: In this function I was responsible for managing relations with 2 key marketing partners. The role involved regular communications between teams at Capital One and at the 3rd parties as well as identifying and implementing opportunities to grow the business.June 2012 - December 2013: Valuations Analyst: In this function, I was responsible for adapting credit policy to to incorporate the outputs of behavioural and financial models.January 2011 - June 2012: Marketing Analyst: I served in a more direct marketing capacity, heading up analytics for our Facebook and digital display advertising.
