Over 50 years of successful experience building for profit organizational systems and cultures, primarily in the Hospitality and Service sectors. Having personally established Human Resources and overseeing Training, Risk Management and Security functions at KFCC from 1969-1973, Denny’s Inc., 1973-1986, Red Robin Burger & Spirits, 1986-1992 and Buffets, Inc., 1995-2004, I have built a reputation for service, while helping people and organizations grow profitably. Each organization, at the time, was nationally recognized for excellence in HR and Operations and a leader in our segment of the industry. The culture of each was based on the concepts identified subsequently by Jim Collins in his publications, “Built To Last” and “Good To Great”. In three of the four organizations we were the segment leader before acquisition or going private through equity partners with different agendas. In addition, my experience as a Private business owner for two years with General Business Services, counseling small business owners, plus 18 years as a Gallup client and one year inside the Gallup Organization, has provided a true appreciation and understanding of Talent Management. Formed Virtual Pathways Consulting Group, Inc. in partnership with Executive Recruiter, Don Gay. Our focus was hospitality executive management and career coaching of Executives and individuals in transition.January 2009 began HR Consulting practice serving the Sizzler USA organization in repositioning the concept and developing a "people first" culture.'As of January 2014 have essentially retired.
