I work with people to design valuable solutions for their customers.Working with organisations like the Bank of Ireland, I create digital solutions that transform standard operating models and bring emerging technology to solve new problems in new ways.Putting it another way, I work in partnership with companies to discover their users’ needs and behaviours, then use those insights to design and deliver customer experiences that are engaging, attractive and useful. Using a combination of experience, insight and evidence led design, I help internal and external customers, to define their vision - I help them to see the problem that they actually need to solve - and then articulate both the supporting digital strategy and underlying solution.

The Solution Design team was created to improve the way Focus designed their products. By introducing and applying UXD and UCD principles and techniques, and learning lessons from different approaches, we transformed how Focus approaches product design for web and mobile apps. Leading the team involved providing ongoing digital thought leadership to internal and external clients, as well as helping the team members to evolve, shape and stretch their roles. It required the development of strong working relationships with stakeholders and influencers across both the business and its customers.Bridging the gap between users, product management and development, I helped deliver a change in the way Focus approaches both product design and solution design for major international clients.

I played a central role in new product development (NPD) and pre-sales engagements and led a dynamic and diverse creative / technical team to deliver outstanding customer solutions.- “Customer-centric” approach used to develop robust partnerships with key customers ensured successful, high value pre-sales presentations.- Led and facilitated commercial and technical workshops for Partnership, LifeSearch, Alexander Forbes and Sesame Bankhall.- Created visualisations and custom prototypes for direct to consumer offerings for clients including Barclays, Tesco, Norwich Union and Scottish Widows.- Designed, developed and presented product concepts for B2B2C and B2C markets. - Co-architected a (patented) secure, scalable, configurable web UI framework including bank-level security, CMS, multi-tenancy and n-level white label support.- Combined domain experience and team management skills to ensure successful delivery of concurrent web design / development projects across time zones.

I was a hands-on digital design manager, responsible for the design and delivery of product concepts, pre-sales support and the UX design and UI architectures for £multi-million projects. - Grew the user interface team into a talented user experience delivery team, working with internal and offshore developers.- Provided visualisations and interactive prototypes to support pre-sales activity, everything from RFI support through pitch collateral design to prototype build and presentation.- Responsible for delivery of UI across multiple projects in waterfall and agile environments.- Successfully delivered the scalable UI framework behind the £multi-million Exweb portal.- Co-architected a secure, robust, scalable, highly configurable ASP.Net UI framework.- Translated a 20+ step business process into a 4 step consumer process for an innovative consumer facing Life system that was subsequently nominated for awards.- Evolved the initial ProNeeds offering to include provision for additional sales processes.

Responsible for utilisation and acquisition of new project work, working in a number of roles but focused on experience design and user interface design / build.- UX / UI designer / developer on £multi-million projects working across the UK and Europe for clients such as Bacardi-Martini, Hitachi, DHL, Exel Logistics and the European Commission.
