I have always had a passion for journalism. Starting with the writing courses I took in high school, to my undergraduate degree I earned in broadcast communications, my professional ambition always has been to cover local, national and international events. After graduating from college, I started in small markets, worked my way up to a large market and eventually to the network level at AP Radio. I've been at the AP for 17 years, and as supervisor I'm in a leadership position. I’m a graduate of the AP Mentor Program and I have an MBA. Also, I was the first within the AP to know about both the Colorado theater shootings and the gulf oil spill story, resulting in full coverage by the company’s other platforms.
