I am a product & technology entrepreneur/enthusiast who thrives in start-up environments where the pace is frenetic, the environment is chaotic, but the team is passionate and driven to solve complex problems. Learning, understanding and applying new technology in new ways to deliver unique solutions is what gets me up in the morning and gets me excited. My career has spanned over 25+ years with a focus on product, cutting edge technology and startups. After working for several years out of college, I co-founded my first company, Millennium Productions, an Internet ISP out of Cambridge, MA. I went on to join a startup company called Hiresystems which became Brassring, where I was the chief product architect/head of development where we built one of the first-ever enterprise applicant tracking systems. I & my team spent 10 years building out the solution which ultimately got sold to IBM and remains today as their flagship Enterprise recruiting solution.In 2007, I founded my new company, SmashFly Technologies, which was a pioneer in on-demand recruitment marketing platforms. I bootstrapped the company for 7 years, getting to 20 full-time employees before raising VC funding. Over the course of 12 years, I secured three rounds of funding in excess of $40M from top tier VC firms including Openview Partners and Bessemer Ventures and developed an enterprise platform that is being used by over 130 companies, many of which are in the fortune 500. Over those years, SmashFly grew from 1 employee to over 130 and helped define a new industry in recruitment marketing solutions.My current areas of focus/passion are in cloud computing with AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), cross-platform mobile development using React-Native & Flutter, Serverless computing with such technologies as AWS Lambda, Google Firebase and CloudRun and interest in AI technologies.
