Joint with Carleton University and Stratus Aeronautics. Developing a fundamental and quantitative understanding of the relation between UAV flight parameters and the signal-to-noise ratio of geomagnetic data acquired.

Joint with Carleton University. Developing a real-time signal discrimination system with audio feedback for a new time-domain electromagnetic geophysical survey system. It is functional, quick, and requires low computer resources. This discrimination system allows for an increase in user awareness in potential underground targets as well as a safer operational environment by decreasing multi-tasking requirements.

Shared a leadership role in a 4-man crew performing Induced Polarization surveys. Planned day-to-day operations, conducted line cutting, ensured operating efficiency by troubleshooting field equipment and survey problems, conducted daily data analysis utilizing Geosoft software package and trained new crew members.

Contributed on research for the Cornell University Electron Storage Ring Test Accelerator (CESRta) by developing data analysis software and graphical user interface (GUI) for the x-ray beam size monitor (xBSM) hardware. Utilized MATLAB to develop curve fitting code and its GUI. I tested on old data sets and performed live analysis during scheduled runs. Assisted in component assembly, installation and testing.

Contributed to a research paper, “Prospects for Observing the Standard Model Higgs Boson Decaying int bb Final States Produced in Weak Boson Fusion with an Associated Photon at the LHC” by performing analyses on Monte Carlo simulations and creating software tools for later use. By using C/C++ and ROOT programming languages created data fitting tools and background subtraction routines to optimize the signal to background ratio.
