About Mike Jerbic
While the typical career path professionals follow is one of increasing specialization, I have chosen a different path: one of breadth and increasing generalization in the pursuit of novel solutions to complex problems. An electrical engineer by training, a software development manager by experience, and an IT security management consultant by continued experience, there's hardly a part of a computer system that I haven't touched at some point in my career. Added to this technical expertise is an appreciation for how the law and economics influence the use and abuse of technology, driving my interests in joint projects between the Open Group Security Forum, and the American Bar Association's Cyberlaw committees. In 2009, I completed my masters degree in economics as an exclamation point in my investigation of how incentives matter and how incentives drive the use and abuse of technology.I work on the hard multidimensional problems and projects: the ones that require sensitive handling of people, processes, and technology. While historically these projects have been in the information security area, I'm eager to pursue challenging projects outside of security as well: wherever problems whose multiple competing interests and incentives demand creative solutions and a sensitive leadership and management style.Specialties: CISSP, Open FAIR, Togaf 9, and PMP Certified
