Project Manager
CurrentEnsures the successful completion of enterprise projects involving information technology systems or cross-organizational changes. Leads and monitors all phases of the project, from scope, schedule, budget, and resources following the CalSTRS project management and Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies. Gather, write, and communicate project information to project stakeholders. Responsible for the completion of all project deliverables. Leads and manages teams of executive-level sponsors, business subject matter experts, business analysts, system engineers, system architects, test coordinators, external entities, and user acceptance testers. Lead discovery efforts for potential implementation projects. Develops and monitors project success metrics. Conducts lessons learned following the close of the project. Manage project scope, schedule, resource, budget, risk and status information using systems utilized by the CalSTRS Project Management Office (PMO).Provides project management oversight for PMO projects involving information technology systems. Responsible for continuous improvement of CalSTRS project management methodology and project scheduling practices. Provides guidance on methodologies, standards and scheduling practices and ensures ongoing compliance and quality assurance. Provides consulting and mentoring to project managers in the PMO and others interested in the project management discipline.Participates in quality assurance reviews of project management documentation, business requirements, technical specifications, test documentation and presentation materials to ensure that the documents meet the project management and/or SDLC methodology standards. Ensure that the information presented is accurate and interpreted correctly; prepare and deliver status reports and presentations to senior management on project status, project risks/issues and timelines.
