Software Engineer
Adjunct Faculty
Dr. Ray Klump, the Director of the Computer Science Department at Lewis University, offered me an opportunity to teach an eight-week course on wireless security. I developed and presented an in-depth course syllabus and directed the laboratory part of the course. Which is now offered as a regular course subject in the department. I update the lectures and laboratory each year to cover the evolution of wireless security.I have recently developed a new course to address software vulnerabilities and defenses. Students who took my new class gave me better reviews than a competing course in the College of Business. Every year I modify the class to include laboratory work and demonstrate the top ten vulnerabilities in a web application. Recently, Ray asked me to become an advisor for the student capstone project. I advise students as they conduct projects in specific areas and issue recommendations on how to develop and implement their ideas for the capstone in their Master of Information Security coursework.
Software Engineer
My role in the Environment Science Division (EVS) is to develop software solutions, especially in the area of geospatial analytics to promote groundbreaking scientific research within DOE, within a team environment composed of other disciplinary scientists and engineers. I focus my skills and knowledge on building geospatial data platforms and analytics in web-based environments with a goal to provide better visualizations and data summaries of complex, mufti-dimensional spatial dynamics. Currently, I am the lead software developer of the geospatial module in the National Nuclear Security Agency (NNSA) G2 Project Management System. I am responsible for creating software to visualize NNSA nonproliferation project status with summaries of key data points to highlight the status of project management milestones. The innovation created allows NNSA to understand key components of project lifecyclesI also lead six developers from Argonne and Oak Ridge National Laboratory to assist me in the software initiative. I interact with key stakeholders from NNSA to guarantee the software is built for the business need. G2’s geospatial module is built on an Open Source platform. The platform combines GeoExt, ExtJS, OpenLayers, GeoServer, and SQLServer. The module functions within the .NET platform and communicates via an application proxy to GeoServer. The architecture and implementation surmounted the challenge of integrating a new JavaScript application within a mature system. I architected core security mechanisms to communicate authorization of data with the G2 system.
Intern
Wrote an application for data entry to document presentations done for the Bradley H.E.A.T.
Research Aide
I assisted with bug fixes and feature updates to the DOE business application supported at Argonne.
Intern
Created an Historical Data Entry Module for the DOE business application created at Argonne.
