Mike Olver is a Partner and Chief Operating Officer at Genesis Analytics, the largest economics- based consultancy in Africa, with offices in Johannesburg, Dubai, India, Kenya and United Kingdom. Mike’s responsibilities cover business growth and expansion, finance, legal, HR, IT and marketing. Over the past 11 years Mike has spent significant time setting up and growing the Genesis offices in Dubai, India, Kenya and now the UK. Driving growth via recruitment or acquisitions, bedding down internal processors and procedures, steering the Genesis culture, while running a smooth and well-functioning Group Services division.Mike is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He joined Genesis Analytics in July 2008. Before that he was Learning Director for Deloitte Southern Africa where he grew the Learning business from a turnover of R20 million to R70 million in 4 years. This role covered servicing both internal and external clients across southern Africa and Europe, providing learning interventions that enhance the interpersonal, management, leadership and technical effectiveness of the Firm’s partners/directors and approximately 4 000 staff.He also has extensive facilitation experience and currently lectures accounting and financial management on a part-time basis for the Gordon Institute of Business Science. Over the past 16 years he has facilitated in the USA, Europe and South Africa.Mike started his career in the audit division of Deloitte Johannesburg, before moving to work in the Deloitte Chicago office for 2 years.
