Stillwater Public Library is governed by a nine-person board of trustees appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the City Council. The board of trustees is the policy making body for the library, responsible for charting a course for successfully serving the community while responsibly managing public and private funding. Elected president of the board of trustees January 2015. Led the board through an executive search process to hire a new director.

I lead integrated marketing teams that combine strategy, creative, digital and amplification into programs that deliver results for our clients. We launch products and creative campaigns, build websites, produce videos, run content marketing programs, build paid-media and SEM programs, and more. Current and former clients include Cargill, Magenic, Deluxe Corp, Heineken, Newcastle Brown Ale, UnitedHealth Group, Best Buy, Marvin Windows and Doors, and The Coca-Cola Company.• Plan and execute integrated marketing programs for clients ranging from Fortune 500 multinationals to local non-profit organizations – responsible for all elements including strategy, goal-setting, creative/digital development, execution, reporting• Collaborate with senior/C-suite leadership to plan, secure buy-in for, and execute projects as simple as a messaging exercise and as complex as a corporate rebranding• Lead or contribute to agency marketing, awards, new-business and talent-recruitment initiatives• Supervise colleagues, ranging from interns to account directors• Led the team that developed a unique digital and video experience that served as the centerpiece of Cargill CEO’s presentation at Davos World Economic Forum (and, later, as a corporate storytelling platform for the company)• Led the team that created Deluxe’s Small Business Revolution content marketing program which, among other successes, has been mentioned on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives twice• Led the agency’s work for Marvin Windows that held sales during a recession-era building slump (considered a victory!) and earned Marvin’s “no layoffs” approach praise from President Obama• Was one of two team members who led the agency’s work on Newcastle Brown Ale’s “If We Made It” Super Bowl program, which won 13 Cannes Lion Awards, including a Silver Lion for Fast Horse’s contribution to the project

The SPL Foundation raises funds to enhance the library’s programming and collections in order to open minds, enrich lives and bring people together. The foundation and its board are driven by the belief that strong libraries are the foundation of strong communities.

Develop and execute traditional media relations strategies. Advise and implement social media tactics including corporate blogs and podcasts and blogger relations.

When an acquaintance who was working with MinnPost.com prior to its launch posted an opening for an intern or assistant, I said, "Well, I have a full-time job, but this sounds interesting and I'd love to help." The next thing I knew, I was in a meeting with publisher Joel Kramer and others, helping to devise a successful launch strategy for this trailblazing digital news outlet.

The Public Relations Student Society of America is the foremost organization for students interested in public relations and communications. It seeks to advance the public relations profession by nurturing generations of future professionals. The organization advocates rigorous academic standards for public relations education, the highest ethical principles and diversity in the profession. PRSSA is led by the national committee, a group of students and professionals dedicated to assisting public relations students.
