Mike believes that the most impactful leaders on the planet work in schools. Great administrators, through teachers they lead, leave multigenerational legacies that literally change the world.A speaker, coach, and high school teacher, Mike has decades of experience in education. He is a best-selling author on school leadership, co-leads the world’s largest edtech community, and sits on the board of SXSWEDU. He has advised dozens of companies, served as CEO to an edtech startup, has spoken at scores of schools on four continents, directed dozens of high school theatre productions, and has worked with thousands of students and families. He's proudly still in the classroom, teaching AP Literature, freshman honors English, and a university survey class on Films and Movies.Interested in pushing boundaries, he's run the NYC Marathon, gone hang-gliding in Brazil, bungee jumping in New Zealand, and has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. He's a founding partner of the coaching agency Leaders Don't Lead, cofounder of Mentorful (a peer mentoring system), and is co-author to Amazon's best selling (and widely shared) "Otherful," a leadership book about how to build school cultures of trust, humor, resilience, and growth.
