Startup medical device manufacturer with a focus on the aesthetic market. The company featured two unique, IP-protected products – the iGuide® Surgical Suture System, a surgical kit used to perform minimally invasive tightening of the neck; and the iGuide 360™ Video Imaging System, a revolutionary system for capturing dynamic before-and-after video images of patients. I was hired to provide financial oversight and manage day-to-day operations, and later took on the role of VP Product Development for the iGuide 360™.VP Finance and Operations • Directed financial planning and oversight, including monthly close and year-end tax and audit preparation- Reduced operating budget nearly 10%, including cost of yearly regulatory audits by two-thirds- Prepared quarterly and annual forecast budgets- Coauthored company strategic plans and drove implementation of all new initiatives- Helped secure interim funding for operations and wrote investment memorandum for company sale- Worked with investment banker to pursue transactions• Managed outsource manufacturer through entire production process- Cut lot lead times by 10% with parallel tracking and tighter oversight- Led periodic site visits to audit assembly process, inventory management and regulatory compliance• Managed independent sales force, providing marketing support, customer feedback and leads- Redirected sales reps to focus on Key Opinion Leaders and develop regional training model- Led recruitment of regional trainers, growing in-person doctor training sessions 25% annually• Directed outsource legal team in contract preparation, patent submission and tracking• Served as investor relations point of contact• Oversaw insurance and risk management• Human resource management including work allocation, hiring and firing• Management representative for all regulatory inspections and audits• Negotiated company’s real estate lease and administered sublease at previous location
