At about the time I was finishing my engineering degree I had an accident that changed my perspective on life. I was mountain biking in southwest Utah during Thanksgiving break in 2016, where I took a fall that should’ve ended my life, falling over 200ft off a series of rocky cliffs. As I was falling, I was almost certain my life would end, but prayed to survive with as little suffering as possible. After an excruciating 5hr rescue through the dangerous, cliff laden terrain, and after finally arriving at the hospital and receiving numerous scans, I was dumbfounded to learn that the extent of my injuries was only a torn abductor muscle, internal bleeding and a slightly punctured lung, and although I couldn’t walk or leave my hospital bed for a few days, I would thankfully be mostly healed in the next two months.Grateful not only to be alive but also with injuries far less severe than I should have had, I realized that if I passed away from that fall, I would’ve left this world without achieving anything significant, without doing anything meaningful for the world. That thought still haunts me to this day. I made a promise that I will not take these same regrets to my grave.I continued my engineering career for slightly longer before I realized I wanted to pursue business, more exciting and my vehicle to contribute to the world. In 2019 I successfully started my first company and sold it this year, but not without some hardship. I understand what it feels like to be stuck and struggle mentally, because I struggled with the direction and purpose in my life, and didn't know how to help myself. I want to use what I've learned through my mental health journey, along with the knowledge of the experienced team I've put together, to make a significant difference in other people's lives.I’ve also experienced my cousin commit suicide, a close family member suffer through depression, and one of my closest childhood friends live with opioid addiction. I understand the paralyzing feeling depression and anxiety causes, and have also witnessed the viciousness and severity of a serious addiction, which is why I’m building an organization that can help as many people as possible overcome these mental illnesses and end their pain. I am confident in our ability to help people who are suffering through a new approach to mental health, both in the way it's marketed and portrayed, and more importantly through the innovative treatment methods we will utilize.
