I’m an experienced and well known policy and substantive thought leader in energy development and deployment. I was a litigation associate and then partner at a major law firm where I focused on environmental and energy matters. I'm former Cabinet level Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of the Environmental Protection (2011 to 2013) and former Chief Judge of the state's Environmental Hearing Board, the statewide trial court for environmental cases. I ran for state-wide election to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in 2007 where I won a contested primary but lost in the general election that year. I was Assistant General Counsel, Environment, Health & Safety, to one of the nation's largest electric generating companies where I also advised the company on energy policy matters and participated in government relations. I’m an experienced and valued advisor to U.S. and global energy companies of all types regarding the full range of legal, public policy, government relations, state and federal regulatory, financial, corporate, and labor matters with my 20+ years of energy industry and public policy experience at the highest corporate and policy-making levels. In 2015, I was honored to have been recognized by Chambers USA as a leader in environmental law in Pennsylvania.
