Mike is a director for Spirit AeroSystems Space and Defense and a University of Kansas Mechanical Engineering Advisory Board member.Mike has 35 years experience with a demonstrated history in the aerospace industry. His primary focus is leading large product development teams for new and emerging defense and commercial programs to progress them from preliminary design to production. Mike is supporting a large defense program starting from Spirit’s earliest participation in development phase. Prior to this assignment, he worked the development phase of programs such as Air Force One, 777, 737NG, 787, and A350. Prior to Spirit, Mike worked for Boeing and during that tenure he was named to Boeing’s Technical Fellowship program for his work in product design, development and implementation of Determinate Assembly technology, and software development to expedite engineering tasks.His career strength has been to take on new and growing responsibilities, especially for new ventures or developmental areas, laying the groundwork, then leading teams and teaching others to implement and carry out. He has leadership experience over staff of many disciplines and experience levels. Mike holds a mechanical engineering degree and an MBA with emphasis in Technology Management.
