Joined what was essentially a start-up organization that was already in delivery; quickly integrated to the team in exceptionally dynamic conditions. • As the primary intelligence officer for the I MEF Operations Planning Team during over a year of preparations for Operation Iraqi Freedom (operations to defeat the Saddam Hussein regime), provided intelligence assessments supporting numerous war games and decision briefings, developed the I MEF Intelligence Concept of Operations, and supported a senior executive forum (Commanding General’s huddle). Addressed complex, unstructured problems such as estimating Enemy Prisoners of War the MEF would capture. Identified alternative routes for advancing forces through innovative use of geospatial and all-source analysis, and assessed the likelihood and impact of enemy use of unconventional tactics ranging from chemical weapons to massive release of water from dams. • Established the Intelligence Watch within the I MEF Current Operations Center (COC). Provided situational awareness regarding threat and relevant aspects of the operating environment during three rehearsal exercises in preparation for impending combat operations. Supported time-sensitive decision-making and adjusted intelligence resources to address potential gaps in coverage. Developed standard operating procedures, and trained two officers who ably fulfilled these responsibilities in combat. • Developed and briefed daily assessments of enemy capabilities and likely actions during combat operations.
