I've spent a lifetime in golf. And it's been great. Raised in Santa Cruz, California, the son of a PGA Golf Professional who operated DeLaveaga Golf Course for the City of Santa Cruz gave me an early education in what it took to be successful. The sport of golf provided an activity where I could learn about all aspects of life. How to dream. How to visualize. How to prepare. How to practice. How to compete. How to overcome obstacles and deal with adversity. How to treat people. Everything required to be successful in life. I competed in the sport though college and beyond achieving some success. I contributed on a national champion NJCAA golf team (Scottsdale CC Artichokes) where I was All-America. I was a two-year letter winner at Arizona State University 1983-1985, where I also contributed as the assistant golf coach in 1990.My professional career has been primarily about bringing golf tee time marketing technology to the industry starting in 1993 when I started selling PAR Golf Systems, one of the first electronic tee sheets and point of sale systems. My path took me directly through all of the major milestones in this space. Golf Digest Information Systems, GolfSwitch, Cypress Golf Solutions and the Golf Channel and all the related business's touched like EZLinks, Fairway Systems, Fore! Reservations, American Golf, Billy Casper Golf, etc... I had a front row seat and contributed significantly. Through it all I have strived to learn more and more about technology and how it can work better for the customer. I've tried to impart everything I have learned for the betterment of the golf course owner because without their investment there would be no golf industry. As it is in life, everything you've done leads you to where you are today.... And where I am today is working with long-time friends, like-minded individuals creating a mundane but really important product- a rounds, revenue, channel and barter benchmarking report.--The ORCA Report.

Co FounderThe Orca Report Jan 2016 - Jul 2019The mission is to become the trusted data provider to public golf facilities by providing them with complete, confidential and comprehensive data which allows them to compare their performance to a self-selected competitive set of golf courses. This does not exist in the golf industry. Despite several attempts by the golf industry this detailed green fee revenue focused product hasn't existed until now. It took the culmination of almost 30 years of my experience in the tee time marketing space to be able to cut through all of the 'fog' and create this product. ORCA. #powerinnumbers

PresidentDigital Caddies, Inc. Mar 2013 - Mar 2015During my role as president at Digital Caddies I was responsible for building and leading the team. We successfully attracted several experienced industry players and put together a team and a plan to build, sell, install and operate a golf car based digital out of home communication network. We also built the ad trafficking infrastructure, media kit and presentations to pitch direct and indirect advertisers on our audience. We succeeded in many areas but unfortunately did not meet our initial revenue projections. A restructuring of the business model was required along with a recapitalization. The new plans did not require my expertise or services.

Vp Golfnow Sales & Strategic PartnershipsGolfnow Apr 2008 - Mar 2013Orlando, Fl, UsCurrently working on international expansion opportunities for GolfNow.com. Spending quite a bit of time learning about new golfing regions around the world, the role of the federations, the structure of the clubs, the online marketing efforts, and the overall economic factors in the golf industry. Very interesting. Several compelling opportunities to consider. Financial pro-formas are being build and plans are being made.As part of the executive management team at GolfNow I have provided input regarding all aspects of the business strategy over the last four years. Starting with the acquisition of Last Minute Golfer I helped devise the integration strategy of the business focusing on aligning the business models and the operational execution. I helped train the LMG team on the GolfNow sales strategy. In 2009 I also played a key role in on-boarding other US golf markets that were operated by GolfNow franchisees. Overall, my role has been that of an trusted consultant, one that has been involved with electronic tee time distribution industry from the early days of 1994. -

I assisted in sales, technology and marketing. During this time we integrated the acquisition of Last Minute Golfer into the Golfnow business model. SalesGolf Digest Information Systems Jan 1996 - May 1998GDiS was the first ever regional tee time reservation system. I was responsible for selling the concept to golf courses, hotels and travel providers in the golf industry. I successfully sold and launched regional tee time reservation systems in Arizona, Nevada, California and Texas.Beyond selling the concept of electronic tee time reservation systems, I demonstrated how the system worked to the golf course operators. Remember, at this time electronic tee time reservation systems were in its infancy and golf course operators needed to know that the electronic system could handle their business rules, e.g., shotgun starts, 27 holes, cancellations, no-shows, etc..I also acted as a one-man installation/technical support department. I became very familiar with point-to-point leased lines, routers, modems, RISC 6000 computers, etc.The highlight of my accomplishments during this time was to be the lead sales person on brining America West Vacations onto the T-Links network and the creation of America West Golf Vacations.

Cart BoyDelaveaga Golf Course 1972 - 1980Was an indentured servant to my father Gary Loustalot, PGA Golf Professional. Mastered every job that a fourteen year old could at a municipal golf course in Santa Cruz, CA... Picked the range, cleaned and parked carts, took out the garbage, vacuumed the golf shop and whatever else those jerk assistant pro's told us to do! Unauthorized but equally important experienced included, learning how to gamble on the golf course, figuring out just how quickly you could turn a three-wheel Harley Davidson golf cart without it tipping over, and if you weren't careful with a cigarette you could start a small brush fire!
