Black Venture Institute (BVI) is a curriculum-based program that enhances Black operators and executives core skills as an angel, scout, and venture investors. It is a virtual program hosted by the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business in partnership with Berkeley Executive Education. The program enables fellows to gain access to experienced, successful investors and learn the foundations of investing, including what investors look for, how to structure deals, and how to contribute as a board member or observer.

Administered, managed and assisted in daily sprint and hurdle practice. Provided coaching support and assistance with track meet logistics. Committed to the mentoring and developing student athletes in their roles on the team and society.

As a T-Bird Coach Thomas aided with 4 Outdoor All-Americans, 3 Indoor All-Americans, 1 Conference Champion, 8 All-Conference performers and several Top-10 performances. Created, implemented and coached of all aspects of practice workouts including technical aspects of various speed and power events including; running mechanics, sprinting, hurdling, horizontal jumps and the strength program. Actively recruit and evaluate student athletes’ academic and athletic skills on local to international scale. Daily operations including; program planning, organization of team meetings, scheduling, management and distribution of equipment, and the coordination of practice and competition travel arrangements.

With his alma-mater Coach Thomas supported in the rise of 1 NCAA Champion, 4 All-SEC Athletes, and saw the record books rewritten in 4 event. Administered, managed and assisted in daily sprint and hurdle practice. Aided in the implementation of competition logistics including track meet management, hotel and travel arrangements. Provided coaching assistance during athletic competition and assessment.

The Huskers brought in 2 Top 10 recruit classes as well as BIG12 Team Tittles allowing Coach Thomas a wealth of experiences in both local and international recruiting. Playing a key role with research, assessment and initiated contact with potential recruits who met the needs of the program academically and athletically. Served as liaison for program- leading campus tours, providing additional follow-up information on the program and organizing networking events to establish rapport, garner interest and support of the program. Effectively communicated with the institution’s academic and compliance personnel to assist in student-athletes’ academic monitoring, amateur eligibility and action plans in compliance to NCAA rules and regulations.

Taught and supervised track and field to over 30 children between the ages 5-16 years’ ways to improve their performance. Created and implemented all aspects of workouts for all event areas of track and field. Successfully organized, managed and coached large groups of young athletes during competition.
