I have worked the last 25 years developing programs designed to reduce waste at its source. I spent many years developing and running an award winning recycling company in New York City known as Rainbow Recycling. I helped to created on site institutional recycling programs for numerous Hospitals, Nursing Homes and Commercial facilities. Then as CEO of Woodhue, Ltd. a compost facility in Wrightstown, NJ, I worked with various hauling companies and food waste generators to develop a collection infrastructure, I created the largest commercial source separated food waste collection program in the State of New Jersey, and at that time, the largest in the country. I contracted with over 125 supermarket chain stores along with some of the largest commercial food processing plants in New Jersey, New York City, Philadelphia, and Connecticut for the removal and diversion of their pre-consumer food residuals. This program diverted and composted over 30,000 tons of food residual and 25,000 tons of carbon based material per year. Currently I consult for a number of major domestic and international corporations, education systems, health care facility’s and food related industries developing and implementing comprehensive recycling programs including organic waste diversion systems.
