I am a solicitor and director at Cohen Cramer Solicitors as well as being the marketing co-ordinator for the practice. I can be reached on 0113 2247804 mike.massen@cohencramer.co.uk I have been practising personal injury law since 1992; I deal with all areas of accident claim but specialise in working with and assisting the victims of rape and sexual assault to get the redress and compensation they deserve. It is doing this kind of work that gets me out of bed in the morning. A lot of initial callers are unsure of what to say or do I want to offer them solid reassurance and advice without patronising or pitying them. My job is stand in front of them and to make sure that they know I am here to use my skill and experience to help them, if possible, to start to put their life back together. I regard myself as straightforward and pragmatic but at the same time never forget I am dealing with individuals who have been through a traumatic experience.I am an accredited fellow of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and a member of the Association of Child Abuse Lawyers.I have expertise in dealing with applications to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority for the victims of violent crime. My expertise in this area extends to applying for review of decisions appealing adverse decisions and seeking the reopening of past matters. In matter I applied for a reopening some 12 years after the original award and obtained an increase from £3750 to over £80,000 due to development of trauma induced epilepsy.When not at work I enjoy cycling, homebrewing and playing guitar though not at the same time.
