About Mike Mcmahon
In March 2020 I was laid off from my job due to Covid. I had been a recruiter for over 15 years and suddenly I wasn’t. There are different ways you can look at something like this, a loss of income, a loss of identity, fear of the unknown can set in quickly. I chose to see opportunity. My daughter was not going to be returning to school after Spring Break. I had the opportunity and the time to home school her without the stress of trying to fit work in around it. We had a great time together, mostly. I suck at teaching math, don’t ever let me try to explain anything mathematical to any child. It only ends in tears, for both of us. We had an amazing summer together; we found a secluded beach near our house and we were in the lake every day. Twice a day actually, the two of us in the mornings and all three of us in the evenings. When we weren’t in the lake, we were playing cards and board games and generally enjoying ourselves. I took time for myself every day as well and decided to try to write. I finished a book, more of a novella I guess, but I did it!I also took my layoff as an opportunity to reassess my life. I wanted to do something new. I have mostly been working from home since 2008, and I have also been working for one of my best friends for most of that time as well. There was a lot good, but it was time to move on.I am happy to say that life since my layoff has been amazing, things just keep getting better and better and I am thrilled with where life has taken me.

I make sure the Installers have all the tools, materials and information required for each job and I manage inventory levels in the warehouse and work vans to ensure that there are no slowdowns on install day. I attend daily meetings to update all employees on the status of current and upcoming installs, and I train all new Solar Representatives to get them up and running, and successful, as quickly as possible.
