Joined Royal Signals as a Junior in 1982 at Ouston. Completed Radio Telegraphist course in Catterick, North Yorkshire (Top Student ) and in Feb 2004 was posted to 7 Sigs in Herford Germany. Spent many weeks out in the field as one does at 7 Sigs, then was selected as the Corps Commanders Operator. July 1986 was posted to 262 Signal Sqn, Cyprus. Spent as much time teaching kayaking as I did doing HF/VHF work. Attended Catterick for A1 course and was Top Student, so applied to join 602 Signal Sqn (SC) in Bicester, Oxfordshire.March 1988 to Aug 1995 602 Signal Sqn (SC). Various global projects requiring high level skill sets in long range HF communications.
