Mike Nowlin, currently serving as Director of Operations at the Institute for Human Services, has 25 years' of mission driven work in the child welfare, mental health and international development sectors, including 14 years as a mid-level and senior executive manager for non-profit and government entities. His time at Hagar follows on from Mike’s experience in Ohio’s largest public child protection agency as Associate Director of Performance Improvement from 2008-2013. Mike has a depth of skills including executive management, organizational operations, program management, fundraising, partnership building, strategic planning and direct social work practice. As a manager of numerous teams throughout his career, his leadership approach is an extension of his belief in creating safe and positive team environments; empowering staff to reach their full capacity; and ongoing assessment of staffing, their functions and pain points to collaboratively identify efficiencies.
