“Astounding,” “one of the very greatest courses I have seen,“ and “full of clever design work” is what Golf Course Architecture Magazine called Wolf Point Club, a Nuzzo-designed, 18-hole personal golf course on the Gulf Coast of Texas.Other visitors to Wolf Point Club said:“The 16th green is probably my favorite on the entire course, which by the way is like trying to pick out your favorite Victoria's Secret model.““After MUCH reflection, my round at Wolf Point was probably the greatest round of golf I've ever played. I've only experienced a similar feeling once in my life.”"Wolf Point is the most natural looking golf course I've ever seen."My goals as a Golf Course Architect are to create enjoyable courses that inspire people to play.Design, construction and maintenance must work collaboratively for the project to turn out as good as possible, which should include economic sustainability. Construction and maintenance costs can be way too high otherwise - and usually are.The 2 most important parts of designing a golf course are starting and finishing. Starting is the routing plan - the bones of a golf course, and finishing means managing every detail of the course through completion - even the perimeter or outside of the property.Communicating clearly with the team, especially the shapers, through both plans and the spoken word, is a process that takes extreme skill and patience - it is a very detailed vision that needs to be translated into the ground. Providing guidelines that enable adaptation in the field, thus giving the crew the autonomy for improvements, translates directly to very memorable golf.

Golf Course DesignerNuzzo Course Design 2000 - PresentWe hear our clients’ needs and goals. From building a top-100 course on what some have called a “nothing site” in Texas, to “hitting a home run” while repairing and improving a storm-battered 100-year-old club on Long Island, it is important to us that we get the most out of every site, budget, and set of constraints. Keeping to a strict budget and schedule, we managed the renovation at an exclusive Houston private club. Using an innovative approach, we created a three-course complex on a 125 acre site. In addition, we led the redesign of a municipal course for Tom Doak, the Houston Open, and the Astros Golf Foundation. Through all of our projects, we have improved junior and inclusive golf. -
